FIRE GROUND PUMP OPERATIONS
Program Overview

This program provides pump operators with a comprehensive look at all of the elements needed
to be an efficient pump operator.

    •   Types of pressure
    •   Types of fire pumps
    •   Pump components
    •   Pump cavitation
    •   Developing fire flows
    •   Troubleshooting the pump

Behavioral Objective of this Training Program

At the conclusion of this training program, the attendees will be able to demonstrate that they are
able to use the information taught in this training program by operating the fire pump under given
scenarios in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

Program Length and Structure

This program is 6 hours in duration; a three hour PowerPoint presentation and a three hour
practical training evolution.  This training program can be completed in one day or split up into two
three hour modules.

Student Handouts

Each firefighter who attends the entire training program will receive a Certificate of Attendance and
a student handbook.
