This program provides the attendees with valuable information concerning New Jersey’s PEOSHA
and NFPA requirements for the 2-in and 2-out rule as well as the procedures for the development
and activation of a rapid intervention crew.

Behavioral Objective of this Training Program
At the conclusion of this training program, the attendees will be able to demonstrate that they are
able to use the information taught in this training program by properly establishing a rapid
intervention crew and operating as part of a Rapid Intervention Crew under given scenarios in a
safe, effective, and efficient manner.
Program Length and Structure
This program is 9 hours in duration; a three hour PowerPoint presentation and two three hour
practical training evolution.
Student Handouts
Each firefighter who attends the entire training program will receive a Certificate of Attendance and
a student handbook.
