THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA PRACTICES AND PROCEDURES
Program Overview

This program provides the attendees with valuable information and hands-on practice in the safe
operation of the thermal imaging camera.  

Program Topics

This program covers the following topics:

    •   Operating Features
    •   Image Recognition
    •   Limitations
    •   Uses of the Thermal Imaging Camera
    •   Safe Operating Procedures
    •   Search Techniques using the Thermal Imaging Camera

Behavioral Objective of this Training Program:

At the conclusion of this training program, the attendees will be able to demonstrate that they are
able to use the information taught in this training program by operating the thermal imaging
camera under given scenarios in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.

Program Length and Structure

This program is 6 hours in duration; a three hour PowerPoint presentation and a three hour
practical training evolution.  This training program can be completed in one day or split up into two
three hour modules.

Student Handouts

Each firefighter who attends the entire training program will receive a Certificate of Attendance and
a student handbook.
