TESTIMONIALS
PEQUANNOCK, NJ - On Sunday May 31, 2009 Pequannock Fire Company 2
hosted a responsibilities of the first arriving company officers course at
Company 2's fire house.

Over 30 firefighters and officers from Pequannock, Lincoln Park, and Wayne
fire departments attended the full day of training.

The Responsibilities Of The First Arriving Company Officers class addressed:

• General firefighting principles
• Responsibilities of both engine and ladder company officers
• Size up factors
• Components of a thorough radio report
• Developing an action plan
• Delivering an effective radio report based on a given scenario
• Name the different size up factors for a given scenario
• Name the responsibilities of the company officer

The class was broken up into two sections. The first was the class room time
covering all of the factors listed above. And the second section was scenarios.

The course used state-of-the-art computer simulations with actual photos of
buildings in the Pequannock area for the scenarios. Each scenario consisted
of showing a particular building with smoke or flame showing and each
attendee was called on to give a size-up and first due radio report. This is
some of the most effective training available.
